The vulnerability assessment emphasized four resource areas-water, fish, upland vegetation, and special habitats-regarded as the most important resources for local ecosystems and communities.

These organizations worked together over a 2-year period to conduct a state-of-the-science climate change vulnerability assessment and develop adaptation options for national forests in the Blue Mountains region. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, the University of Washington, and the Climate Impacts Research Consortium at Oregon State University.

Partnering organizations included three national forests (Malheur, Umatilla, Wallowa-Whitman National Forests), the Pacific Northwest Research Station and Pacific Northwest Region of the U.S. 16 x 1 hour interactive sessions facilitated by engaging and industry leading presenters.The Blue Mountains Adaptation Partnership was developed to identify climate change issues relevant to resource management in the Blue Mountains region, to find solutions that can minimize negative effects of climate change, and to facilitate transition of diverse ecosystems to a warmer climate. We will update you on the timetable release but some of the great features include: The timetable has been designed with a combination of morning and evening sessions so participants are able to take advantage of everything the Blue Mountains have to offer such as, climbing, canyoning, abseiling, hiking, waterfalls, cablecars, golf, the list goes on. Content is most relevant to those working in ED, pre-hospital, retrieval and acute care settings however all are welcome! Presentations are accredited by ACEM and ACRRM and has been deemed to be worth 16 ACEM and ACRRM CPD hours. This conference is open to all medical and health professions with topics relating to the latest practices in emergency care.
